Every dog you’ll ever love started as a small thing finding its footing in a strange new world. The puppies here are at exactly that point — old enough to come home, still learning how big their feet are going to get. This is the beginning of a fifteen-year story, and you get to pick where it starts.
Start With the Shape of Your Life
The fastest way to narrow a search is to start with the dog you can actually live with, not the one that’s cutest on a Tuesday. A few honest doors in:
- Low-shedding companions — if anyone in the house reacts to dander, our hypoallergenic group gathers the breeds that produce the least of it. (No dog is allergen-free, but some come close.)
- Doodles and designer crosses — the designer-hybrid lineup runs from a confident Goldendoodle to a couch-shaped Cavapoo; browse the full Goldendoodle range if that’s the family you’re set on.
- A known quantity — when you already know the temperament you want, a purebred gives you predictability you can plan around.
- Small enough to scoop up — apartment dwellers and frequent travelers tend to land in the toy-and-teacup group, where a Yorkie or a Pomeranian fits a smaller footprint.
If none of those quite fit, the full breed directory lays out every option, and our staff will happily talk you out of a mismatch.
Where Our Puppies Come From
Every great dog starts somewhere good. The puppies on our floor come from a trusted network of carefully selected, licensed breeders — people we’ve called, visited, and kept working with because the dogs they raise grow up steady. They’re licensed, and none of this comes from a mill. We say that plainly, then we’d rather you test it: ask us anything about where a particular puppy came from. A clear answer is the whole point.
Before any of them reach a location, they’re handled gently and introduced to the ordinary chaos of a home — doorbells, footsteps, the vacuum, kids. That early groundwork is why a Wellspring puppy tends to settle into your house instead of bracing against it.
Happy From the Start
Happy from the start means a real starting condition, not a promise about the future. Every puppy is examined by a licensed Texas veterinarian before it ever meets a family, and Texas law keeps every puppy with its litter until at least eight weeks — old enough to come home and ready for it. We keep the health records for each dog on hand, and we’ll walk you through them rather than wave them around.
Backing the Years Ahead
A puppy is the start of a long story, so a few things here are built around the long part of it.

The full breakdown of both lives on the puppy financing page; the short version is that neither one should be a surprise on pickup day.
Honest About the Work
A puppy is joy, and a puppy is also early mornings, chewed table legs, and a few months of house-training patience. We say this on purpose. The dogs that turn out best go to families who walked in knowing the work was coming and wanted it anyway. Tell us about your real schedule and your real space, and we’ll point you toward a breed and an age that match the life you actually have — not the one you’re hoping to build around a dog.
Two Locations, One DFW Family
We keep two locations across the metroplex, and both share the same combined inventory — what you see online may be sitting at either location.
Both keep the same hours: see our store pages Availability changes daily, so the dog you spotted this morning may have a family by evening — and a new litter may have arrived.
Come Meet Them in Person
Photos do a lot, but they can’t show you the stretch-yawn a puppy does waking up, or which one walks straight over to your kid. That’s the part that matters, and it only happens in person. Bring the whole family and take your time. When you’re ready, see everything available right now, or reach the team first if you’d like to talk breed fit before the drive. Either way, call us at (972) 674-1963 — we’ll have someone real on the line.
Questions Families Ask First
How do I choose between a doodle, a purebred, and a teacup?
Work backward from your life, not the litter. A purebred gives you the most predictable size and temperament; a designer hybrid blends two breeds and can vary even within one litter; a toy or teacup dog suits small spaces and travel but is fragile and needs gentle handling. Tell us your space, your hours, and who’s home, and we’ll narrow it fast.
Are low-shedding breeds really better for allergies?
They’re better, not magic. Allergies come from proteins in dander, saliva, and urine, so no dog is fully hypoallergenic — but breeds with continuously growing coats, like Poodles and many doodles, shed and spread far less dander. They do need steady grooming, roughly a brush a few times a week plus a professional trim every four to eight weeks. Our hypoallergenic group is the place to start.
Where do your puppies actually come from?
From a small set of licensed breeders we’ve personally worked with — never a mill. We keep that circle small on purpose so we can answer real questions about any individual puppy’s background. Ask us; you’ll get a straight answer rather than a brochure.
Are the puppies checked by a vet before I meet them?
Yes. A licensed Texas veterinarian examines every puppy before it reaches the floor, and Texas law keeps each one with its litter until at least eight weeks. We keep the health paperwork on hand and go through it with you.
Can I spread out the cost?
In many cases, yes — through in-person payment plans with TerraceFinance, a third-party partner. Approval is theirs to make, not ours, so it isn’t guaranteed, but we’ll sit down and walk through the options. The financing page has the full picture, and the optional 15-Year Limited Health Warranty can be added in-person too.
Which location should I visit?
Whichever is closer — the inventory is shared, so both show the same puppies. North Dallas families take the Inwood Rd location off I-635; Fort Worth and the mid-cities lean on the Mansfield location on FM157. Both run seven days a week
